Howard is a founder member and partner of Football Development Schools. He has previous coaching experience in the U.S.A with International Soccer USA in the Summer of 2000 and 2001, which was 'an invaluable experience as a young coach'. His coaching in the U.K began with P.S.N. Soccer Schools. There he was responsible for the Community and Player Development aspects in Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough and Market Harborough with some additional responsibilities for Daventry at different times. In April 2005 these responsibilities came under the newly formed F.D.S. umbrella. Howard is now in his sixth year in the Kettering, Corby and Market Harborough and following the development of the Bedford has a comprehensive understanding of football in these areas. Many boys from these areas have gone into the professional game.
At the Elite level he worked at the Northampton Town Centre of Excellence from 2001 until 2006, where he worked with players from under 8 to under 14, During this time he was part of an excellent team of coaches who had an distinct belief in how players should be developed within the game. In June 2006 he moved to the newly formed Kettering Town youth Academy along with the F.D.S. staff and coaches from the Northampton Town Centre of Excellence. In January 2007 he helped set up the F.D.S. Academy having recently left Kettering Town FC. Howard is currently overseeing the under 8, under 9 and under 10 squads within the Academy.
