NEWS - APRIL: TRIALS SHOW STRENGTH IN DEPTH
FDS held an open trials day for next seasons U12 and U13 squads and were pleased with the outcome. Attending the trials were a number of keen local players, development centre players and a number of the current U12 squad, so the coaches had a mark of the level required by the trialists. Overall the quality was very high and a number of the new faces showed good quality within their game and performed at a good level.
The most pleasing aspect of the trials was the high technical base shown by our development Centre players, and with this their attitude and application means the coaches have some excellent prospects for the two squads moving towards next season. The coaches will be confident that any additions made on the back of the trials will increase the standard and competitiveness for places within these squads.
At these age groups its about working especially hard to push players towards clubs as the boys reach the business years of youth development. A number of clubs have already expressed interest in a number of this years U12 squad and FDS will work hard to continue pushing the players to reach their potential in the sport.
FDS are also attracting players who have been released by pro clubs, so if you are a player who still has ambitions in the game and has recently been released by a club please feel free to contact us at FDS. Size is not important, but skill and attitude are.
FDS would like to thank all the boys who attended the trials, and wish all the boys the best of luck with their football whether this be in our Academy, Development Centres or in local football.
