JANUARY: FDS v SKILL 7
Football Development Schools welcomed selected u10 players for a fixtures against skill 7 (a soccer school from Buckinghamshire). The match would be a chance for players from a host of development centres to come and show the FDS coaches their technical ability while also having the test of displaying a tactical awareness to the roles they would be given.
As the match progressed coaches Angus Meichan and Howard Willmott were greatly enthused by the understanding the players demonstrated along with the excellent technical ability on show. These areas were the product of a day inwhich all the players showed excellent discipline both on and off the pitch, and it was no surprise that many of the players were able to take on board great levels of information.
During the coming months it is hoped that the boys will continue to work hard on all aspects of their play, as the team performance was not far from that of Centre of Excellence standard, lets hope for a lucky few this could be the spring board to future success at that level.
