JUNE: F.D.S U11 v LEICESTER CITY DEVELOPMENT CENTRES
On Tuesday 27th June F.D.S selected a group of under 11's to go over to Leicester City Academy to play a group of their development centre players.
Off the pitch all of the boys were a credit to themselves in the professional way they went about this (smartly dressed, taking in information, getting organised etc.)
The Leicester City staff were really impressed, commenting to myself and Scott that we had 'a great bunch of lads' and that they would be happy to play us any time with any age group.
On the pitch Scott and myself were delighted with the way the boys played.In the changing room we had spoken about individual responsibilities in the 3-3-2 system we were playing and also asked all the players to do the following;
1. If you can pass, pass the ball quickly
2. If you are under pressure, show your skills and ability to create
an opportunity to pass, shoot etc
3. Compete if the ball is there to be won
To a man each player fulfilled these criteria and more, resulting in some good possession football with plenty of skill and creativity. Without the ball the work rate and teamwork to win the ball back was equally good.
Boys you were great to work with and I look forward to working with you again.
