OCTOBER: HALF TERM ACTIVITIES PROVE A SUCCESS
During the school holidays FDS had a very busy time working on a number of different initiatives. The Fundays again were well attended, with the children having a great time with our coaches, taking away with them good memories and some gifts to help them develop their footballing talents.
FDS were also pleased to develop further relationships with Kettering Town and WBA, as they took part in a couple of different ventures. Firstly the Kettering Development Centre players took part in a half time demonstration match at Kettering Town's home game Vrs Stalybridge Celtic. In front of the Poppies biggest crowd of the season the players demonstrated some excellent skills to entertain the Rockingham Road faithful. The warm reception the boys received and the kind words emanating from the clubs message boards have been much appreciated and we hope to provide the half time entertainment again in future matches.
The coaches of FDS were also delighted to take a squad of Under 7's to an informal tournament day at West Brom's Academy. Impressing the staff of WBA with their technical ability and freedom to play the boys had a wonderful afternoon, producing performances which improved as the afternoon progressed.
The staff of FDS would like to take this opportunity to thank all the players and parents who helped make the half term activities such a success. The players showed impeccable behaviour and the support shown by the parents was very much appreciated, especially those who made the trip to WBA.
