NEWS - FEBRUARY: GOALKEEPING SCHOOL GOING FROM STRENTH-TO-STRENGTH
February 2007 saw Football Development Schools (FDS) create their Goalkeeping School with 2 goalkeepers meeting the highly qualified and experienced
goalkeeping coach Kevin Oldham on that first evening a year ago.
February 2008 sees numbers growing and Kevin holding two groups of dedicated students who wish to learn the art of goalkeeping at the excellent
Montsaye Community College astro turf in Rothwell.
The goalkeepers continue to enjoy Kevin's enthusiasm and attention to detail which marks him as one of the top coaches in his field, and is a major asset
to the FDS development programme.
The distance players are prepared to travel to attend the school is also testiment to the quality of the sessions, with several goalkeepers
travelling from 45 minutes to one hour to join what is fast becoming a regional coaching base for goalkeepers.
With the first year exceeding all expectations regarding to the success of the school, who knows what might be of the goalkeeping programme by
February 2009. One thing is for certain enthusiasm and hard work will continue to underpin the sessions up to and beyond that point.

The age range is 7 to late teens and all goalkeepers that have an enthusiasm to improve are welcome.
