NOVEMBER: FOOTBALL FUTSAL DRAW TAKES PLACE
The razzmatazz of tournament football came to the home of Football Development Schools, with the official draw for the Inter-School Futsal Tournament taking place ( Wednesday 2nd November 11:15am gmt).
In the glare of the bright lights, teams for the first tournament day (Thursday 10th November) were put into the velvet bag and chosen for the group stages of the tournament. The second tournament day taking place on Tuesday 15 November was a more straight forward affair with the teams playing in a 6 team league structure.
Devising the format for the first tournament day carried with it the traditional confusion for the organising committee with the schools who have two teams having to avoid each other in the early rounds. Seeding was also a factor with the teams placed by the form they have shown over the previous 12 months being taken into consideration!!
A couple of local derbies were avoided with Rothwell and Havelock playing on separate days, along with Little Bowden and Ridgeway missing each other by the same scenario. To play each other they will have to meet in the Futsal Grand Final between the winners of both tournament days!! (date to be decided).
The Draw was as follows..
