NOVEMBER: FUTSAL TOURNAMENT - THE GRAND FINAL
Following the two tournament days the final of the 1st inter-school futsal tournament will be one for the neutrals, with Havelock Juniors taking on their local rivals Rothwell Juniors. The form going into the final would suggest a close affair, with the two schools providing a goalless draw at Rothwell in a school friendly played in poor conditions in October. More recently Havelock edged out Rothwell 4-1 in the Bishop Stotford tournament with 3 late goals to win the quarter-final clash.
Richard Jacques Havelock side would appear to be favourites for the final although, he intends to make the most of the exceptional players he has on his books and realises success maybe short lived. On the other hand Mick Garly at Rothwell Juniors sees the final as a stepping stone towards a golden age for the Rothwellians as years 3 & 4 at the school have several talented players coming through.
THe date for the grand final will be decided shortly.
