MAY: BLACKSTONE'S TOURNAMENT
Last Saturday F.D.S entered the Blackstone’s 6-a-side tournament at under-9 with boys selected from the Stamford and Oakham development Centres. There was a squad of nine boys who all acquitted themselves well both on and off the pitch during the day.
The aims for all the boys in the tournament were to move the ball quickly, use their skills and to work hard to stop the other team playing. In addition to this the boys were also asked to play in particular positions and to take on board tactical information regarding those positions, which they did pretty well.
The boys managed to reach the final which was a very good achievement as well as the manor in which they played.
