Goalkeeping School
The FDS Goalkeeper school provides specialist goalkeeper coaching which is essential for this specialist position. The training focuses on technical improvements in key areas such as footwork, handling, shot stopping, distribution and dealing with crosses. As with all coaching at FDS we take a long term approach to developing goalkeepers, with the different techniques covered at the appropriate ages. Kevin Oldham (for more details visit Staff), who oversees the FDS goalkeeper coaching has vast experience and expertise in putting these building blocks in place has a proven track record of producing young goalkeepers including Lee Crockett (Manchester United Youth Team) and Paul Walker (Northampton Town Youth and Wales Youth).
The FDS Goalkeeper School takes place on Mondays at Montsaye Community College in Rothwell on 3G Astro at the following times,
Under 7 – Under 9 5:45 – 6:45
Under 10 and above 6:45 – 7:45
