Stamford DC June 21st

After setting out the standards required at development centre, and that some players need to prove they are good enough for next term, the quality of practice at the beginning was very good. The level did drop later and this will need to be improved on. Good performances came from James, Arthur J and George B.

The smaller younger group worked hard on their skills then progressed from 1v1 to 3v3. It was pleasing to see Brandan starting to be a skillful player and Tom also had a very good session. Harry has made an excellent start to development centre.

Wellingborough DC June 20th

We worked very hard on the scissors and developed the skill really well in the older group progressing to a 2v2 round robin. The ability to perform all of the skills was good however we need to maintain a better work rate from start to finish if we are to really reap the rewards by improving our game. Some of the perforamces in the 2v2 were very good with Dan, Jordan and Rory now having the goal of pushing into the FDS Academy. Ben stop wasting your ability by being lazy!

The younger group continue to work at a good level with Jacob settling in well and showing a good ability to learn.

Oakham DC June 19th

Having worked on passing and receiving with the older group for the past few weeks we resumed a skillful approach to training this week. The session was based on the scissors and many different varieties of the skill. The overall level was pretty good with Danilo, Louie and Ewan working well. As a group we need to keep a high level for the whole session.

In the younger group a much more skillful performance from Hayd'n, which was pleasing. The overall level of skill in the group is developing which is very good.

Stamford DC June 7th

The older group were a group of 2 halves, one very good, one very poor. We are getting tired of saying the same things to some players and this has to stop either by you taking in the information or by us replacing you with players who will actually benefit from the coaching! An excellent session from Miles, Arthur J and Ben.

The half term break seemed to have an affect on the younger group who weren't at their best. make sure we are practicing well next week. A very good start from Harry.

Rugby PDC

An excellent start back to the development centre, with the introduction of 5 new players.
Steve's group:
Started the sessions with a HIGH TEMPO warm up, working on their skills in an unopposed area. As the session progressed so did the players, Sam, Oli showing excellent progress having been away on the residential. Kurt showing i wide rage of skills and Luke being Luke did not fail to impress with his excellent attitude and Large range of skills.

Scott's group:
We started the session reinforcing the reasons why we need to practice!
Working on our skills in a 1v1 seen David produce skills C. Ronaldo would of been proud of, Cal not to be left behind also shown a great rage of skills as well as Alex! we progressed in to Ajax passing (how quick can we move the ball?) and 2v2's which was to end the session.

Adams Group:
With a number of new players joining the group, Adam introduced 4 new skills which, will be their homework!!! with the excellent attitude all the players shown their development will only progress quickly!

Oakham DC June 5th

It was noticeable in the younger group those players who had been on the weekend residential at Grendon Hall. Cam, James and Ryan all worked to an excellent level, once again reinforcing our belief in residentials and tours in helping players to take their game to the next level. We hope this is a trend in more Oakham DC taking advantage of these opportunities, hopefully starting with the summer residential.

A smaller turnout in the older group however well done to the players who attended as they all tried to work their best. The session was a big test in terms of passing, controlling and footwork so that you can play quickly (1 and 2 touch). We will continue this work over this half term to help develop this side of the game. Dan showed why he is technically one of our best players and Matty and George worked well off one touch.

Bedford DC 24th May

A frustrating session with the concentration levels far under par of what we expect. Take responsibilibny ratrher than expect somebody else to do things for you. Tommy F was very good and player of the session sadly there was not much competition.

Will K and Robbie W need to get into the habit of ensuring they understand what they are doing. If you develop this along with your excellent work ethic you will be even better. Harry G you will reach your potential more if you work well on Thursdays and Fridays rather than coming for a jolly on a Thursday.

Kettering DC 22nd May

Olly B continues to show excellent progress each week. The Latimer boys were not at their best and lacked the concentration needed, however the standard of the 2v2's was very encouraging. The boys need to understand performance is everything.

Corby DC 21st May

Younger group did not show the same form as the previous week, and showed one or two poor habits which we had hoped would be a thing of the past. THe most important skill in football is listening.

The middle group had some very good performers, however were let down by one or to dopes in the group. You only need to be told once in the future. Dominic E and Nick W need to ensure they do not fall behind regards this issue.

The Oldest group produced a laboured session with the tempo being at a very low ebb. The last 15 minutes were how we should be training.

Wellingborough DC May 16th

Glenn's group had a good session in whiuch the Ajax passing was done to a very high standard once you got to grips with the footwork. We will look to progress theis next week.

The older group worked on making good angles to receive. You understood the information but need to be able to show this by doing it in a game situation.

Corby DC 14th May

A massive well done to the younger group who produced their best performance of the year. Glenn singled out Ben V and Tom D for special praise for their contribution to the session.

Steve was also handing out a redition of pludits for his group. Michael S was commended for his overall work of the past couple of months with Ellis H also getting a mention for his quality. This week also saw the introduction of a number of new comers. Arlene's pace was a distinctive feature to his ability and if we get his left foot firing, we could have a very exciting young player moving forward. Welcome also to Daniel W & Harvey and Emilio who adjusted well to the group.

The oldest group were well focused from the start of the session. Keaton, Ned, Kieran and Albert made their debuts in this group and produced some excellent performances. Jamie G was excellent in the game with good positional understanding. Mark J was also in good form throughout. Sam U and George W were highly motivated and produced top performances throughout aswell. Chopper needs to work on his movement to create space.

Overall a top nights work from everybody performiong well. Steve and Glenn have been excellent with their coaching sessions which is reflected in the boys performances. The future looks bright!!

M.Harborough 11th May

Another excellent session from the boys. There is a massive clamour by the coaches to work with the group. Mike was the lucky coach this week and was pleased with the quaility of the session. With the quality being so high the boys need to work on ensuring they are continously performing to a high level, as if they take their eye off the ball, sport has a way of beating you down. Overall well done
